Five years ago, WeChat Work was rolled out into the market. Before, it was only a tool for business chat. Over the years, it became a tool to help serve social commerce. How?

WeChat Work lets users send messages inside a company, like Slack. Further, users can connect it to their other non-work chat apps. Aside from that, they can also connect it to WeChat’s consumer version. Thus, driving better interaction due to this integration. But the main goal of WeChat Work’s latest feature is to enhance social selling. How?

A brand’s employees can now talk with everyday WeChat users. At the same time, admins can oversee the relationship they are building. Thus, making it a great tool to aid in social commerce. Then, two years ago, it rolled out a new feature called Moments. What is this?

The Importance of Moments

Moments let users share both with their workmates on WeChat Work and the consumer version of WeChat. How is this helpful?

Before Moments, employees will need to use their personal accounts to update their customers. Thus, they will show their personal lives to them. Of course, this is not ideal. But this case was solved after the birth of Moments. Brands can now plan posts. Then, they can let their sales team post steady content. As a result, this closes the gap between the app and the regular WeChat.

Moments also help employees connect with the brand’s customers via direct chat. They can even add them to a chat group where they share discounts and news.

How, then, can you take advantage of WeChat Work? There are three ways.

WeChat Work lets you control how you connect with your customers. So, you can take advantage of the app by:

  • Connection. This will let you see your employees’ actions. Customers can also scan their WeChat Work QR to get connected. Then, after an employee leaves, you can see all the customer data they were working on. Then, managers can let new hires or other employees take over it.
  • Social CRM. This is present in-app. It lets you know when and how best to interact with your customers. Also, it shows KPIs that help you track their progress. You can see which part of the buying process they are already on.
  • Loyalty. The app can help you build a customer profile. This will help you serve them better. Also, this will let you see how many chats or what is the reply time for each person. Then, keep up with that. Thus, helping you drive sales and loyalty.

As you can see, WeChat’s efforts are great. How do you think will these pay off? What do you think will it do in the future to further boost its social commerce?
